Lower and Upper School Students Collaborate on Film Project
SFC’s fourth grade classes made history come alive by creating short films on the history of California Indians, explorers, missions, ranchos, the Gold Rush and the Transcontinental Railroad. The videos represent many era’s in California’s historic development, not just the mission period. The California history video project was a collaborative effort between 54 fourth-graders and 18 Upper School juniors and seniors. Fourth graders researched California history, developed scripts, built props and created costumes for each of the videos. Fourth grade students then acted out their scripts while Upper School students filmed the videos and added voice over narration to make a final production.
