Homecoming at SFC is more than just football, alumni and the homecoming court. Homecoming focuses on honoring Jesus Christ and involves the entire K-12 school. It’s more than just a theme, but encompasses the mission of Santa Fe Christian Schools.
One way SFC is different is how we select the Homecoming Court. The Court is chosen based on their Christian character and how they represent SFC and Christ, rather than popularity. SFC Homecoming kings and queens come in all varieties including athletes, actors, artists, mathematicians, mission trip coordinators, and more.
Election to the Homecoming Court is not just an honor and privilege but also a responsibility. Court members give their testimony to the school during Homecoming week. Parents join the Homecoming Court announcement ceremony since they have played the critical role in developing their child’s character.
And although the half time ceremony includes the usual cars and banners, the big focus is on senior testimonies. Seniors express their gratitude for family members and other key adults who have helped shaped their lives during their K-12 years.
From the assembly, chapel, and pep rally, SFC welcomes back alumni who have impacted the school and many share their stories during Homecoming week. Plus, SFC reunions also take place during Homecoming week.
SFC’s Homecoming is designed to give God the glory.
