At the largest turnout in SFC history, grandparents and special guests enjoyed a sweet morning of being honored by SFC Lower School children at Grandparents Day.

The morning began in the gym as kids performed songs and several students from each grade read poems and short essays written  for their grandparents. Soon after, the children led their grandparents to their classrooms and finally to the Lower School Art Show.

The grand finale –
playing together on the playground – was a riotous good time for both students and  grandparents alike! Nadine Castagna, parent of two Lower School students remarked, “I thought it was a neat way to honor grandparents. Sometimes in this culture it feels like youth trumps everything and we dismiss the elderly. Grandparents are such a blessing and bring wisdom.” Grandparents were beaming as the day ended with the children dismissed early.
