Refugee children are overjoyed by the simple gift of an Easter basket. Working with the Bridge of Hope organization, SFC Lower and Middle School students assembled and distributed over 540 Easter baskets to children in City Heights during Spring Break. Prior to SFC being a part of this outreach, most of these children had never received an Easter basket. Filled with Easter items, the baskets also included something to display God’s love such as a Bible verse or a note of encouragement from an SFC student. The children who received the Easter baskets are from local low income families and refugees from all over the globe including Africa, Middle Eastern and Asian countries.

Parent volunteer Melissa Drake leads the effort in partnership with Bridge of Hope, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping families in transition by providing furniture, clothing and food. The Easter Basket project is one of many charity efforts the Lower School conducts each year.
