This co-ed team is comprised of all skill levels and abilities. Upper and Middle School surfers compete against other schools from San Diego to Santa Barbara in the Scholastic Surf Series. While on the team, surfers work to improve their skills, learn how to compete, encourage each other and bring a Christ-like nature to the sport.
The 2014-15 season just finished with several of SFC’s Upper School surfers ranking in the top ten this year. Congratulations to Cole Saunders (4th Men’s Shortboard), Kyle Davis (8th Men’s Longboard), Jacquelyn Martin (4th Women’s Shortboard, 5th Women’s Longboard), Cullen McGee (2nd Bodyboarding) and Middle School surfer, Saxon Chang (5th Men’s Longboard).
Coached by 1996 Olympic sand volleyball player Gail Malone, the women’s Upper School no-cut spring sport hits Dog Beach to practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school. The experience is not only available to those in the Upper School; Middle School students have an opportunity to learn the skills of beach volleyball in an elective course as part of their schedule.
With over 30 girls participating this season, it is the largest team SFC has ever had for sand volleyball. So far the girls have played two games as the season is just beginning. Check out the school master calendar or the 2015 Eagle Sand Volleyball Schedule for dates and times of games.
