The SFC music program helps students glorify God by teaching them to worship their creator through music. Starting in kindergarten, their musical skills develop and are refined as they grow. Our goal is to nurture their talents and deepen their faith through the joy of music.
Middle schoolers are invited to join the Battalion Band or the Brigade Band depending on their skill level. At the high school level, students can participate in the Concert Band or the Honors Concert Band. As these musicians develop, there are many opportunities to perform in solos and ensembles, our annual Veteran’s Day Celebration in November, and other school concerts.
The SFC music program develops the students’ vocal talent and confidence in their singing in Middle School. As their vocal talents grow, students perform at a music festival and sing with the High School choir. In High School, our students will have the opportunity to explore a rich variety of music from different periods and styles. They participate in numerous concerts throughout the year, including a Fall Concert, Spring Concert, and a Christmas concert, as well as school chapels. They also play a significant role in the annual Veteran’s Day Celebration in November and a spring festival.
There is an opportunity to try out for the Chamber Chorale, where students are challenged to learn music at an advanced level of difficulty. Chamber Choral not only participates with the choir, they also provide music for special events such as the SFC Christmas Gala, churches, school chapels, and community programs.
Learning an instrument at an early age allows keen observers and quiet influencers to communicate through self-expression. Our elementary students are introduced to the basics of rhythm, note reading, and music history. Throughout their elementary years, they play several instruments such as ukeleles, keyboards, and xylophones. All students have the opportunity to perform in an annual Christmas program and our Spring Sing to showcase all they learned.
