Mentor360!

Mentor360! exists to give mothers of active SFC students the opportunity to experience joy and growth in their Christian lives by participating in one-on-one supportive and encouraging mentoring friendships.

A mentor is a woman who is a practicing Christian, who has current or prior ties to SFC, and who has the desire to let her life be an example and godly role model.

A mentee is an SFC current mother who is desirous of growing in her Christian faith.

Meet the leadership team

Jan DeVries
Jan DeVries

Jan DeVries 20 years slatting in 1995 and had four children go through the school at various times from pre-school to high school. Her kids Jenny, 30; David, 28; Bryan, 26; and George IV, 21, were active in all types of sports and activities, from volleyball to water polo and more. Jan became involved in Mentoring and Discipleship programs at her church, NCCC. about
seven years ago and has enjoyed these activities in her empty nest years. Jan has been a working mom and a stay home mom over the years. She is happily married to George De Vries for 34 years.

Angie Gilbert
Angie Gilbert

Angie Gilbert has been married to Rod Gilbert, the current Head of Schools at SFC, for 30 years. She has two adult children, Kalie (28) and Ryan (24). Angie enjoyed a professional career as a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurse since 2003 and recently stepped away from nursing to cheer on her husband and the school. Having been impacted by many women in her life that have come alongside her and mentored her, she is thrilled to be a part of Mentor 360! Angie enjoys birding, singing, swimming, reading biographies, and all things vintage.

Glenda Lyons
Glenda Lyons

Glenda Lyons and her husband, Paul have been a part of the SFC community for 21 years. She was an administrative assistant for the Upper School and recently retired, as did Paul from teaching. They have two adult children and three grandchildren. Mentoring students and alumni is a passion she loves to do alongside her husband. They have been in Christian school ministry all their married life, 51 years, and have enjoyed seeing many students and families grow and learn in their Christian walk. She has been privileged to be a part of the various mission outreach teams for the past 25 years, including SFC. Glenda enjoys being with her grandkids, walking on the beach, reading, and tea parties!

Paige Huffman
Paige Huffman

Paige Huffman thoroughly enjoyed her time at SFC, and she and her husband, Steve, had their twin boys, Ryan and Austin, enroll in 2003. Quickly, Paige was involved in literally every aspect of volunteering; sports team parent, spiritwear designer, numerous fundraising campaigns, tennis coach, “The Fun Parent Chaperone,” Middle and Upper School PE teacher, substitute teacher, and even the SFC Eagle Mascot! Paige and her love for gardening took on the campus and planted the always-changing SFC Marque, and when the school needed a party, she and Steve started the Christmas Gala in 2007. She is passionate about encouraging younger women and sharing her faith and love for SFC. In her free time loves to travel, entertain, and all things fitness, play tennis, hike, and work as a fitness instructor and personal trainer.

Susan McIntosh
Susan McIntosh

Susan McIntosh’s children spent 10 years at SFC. Lane (33) graduated in ’06, and Emma Jane (31) graduated in ’09. Since she believes the relationship is most important for a child’s well-being in school, she and another mother started the Eagle Buddy Program in 2000. She was president of the Middle and Upper School Service Teams and served as a room mom and sports mom for hockey and tennis. Susan volunteered as an office admin and administered standardized testing during her children’s school years. When her children were in college, she returned to SFC to work in the SFC College Counseling Department from 2011 until 2015. What a delightful job and wonderful Christian atmosphere! She and her husband, Lawrence, have been married for 41 years. Their daughter got married in June 2021, and their son in 2022. Susan and Lawrence attend The Rock Church in Point Loma. Susan loves to garden, bird watch, ebike, workout, have coffee with friends, read, and much more!

Jill Ippolito
Jill Ippolito

Jill Ippolito has three adult daughters who experienced SFC impact in their high school years.
Besides being a keynote speaker at retreats, and parenting seminars, Jill’s primary business is as a Life Coach where she guides her clients to discover their possibilities, sharpen their focus, make confident decisions, and reach their goals.
After years of teaching, Jill served as Director of Children’s Ministry for 17 years at her church and has worked with adults and families creatively helping them and their families connect and grow.
Jill and her husband Vic of 36 years are excited to have recently gain two new sons through the marriage of their daughters. Jill has a heart for the people of Haiti as she hopes to be returning soon for her 15th trip since the catastrophic earthquake in 2010.
Jill is a secret pen thief and is always in search for the perfect peanut butter chocolate chip cookie.

Kelly Whitton
Kelly Whitton

Kelly’s background in education as a Preschool Director and PreK teacher leads her to currently serve our campus with enrichments and parent engagements as the Enrichment Programs Director at SFC. She has always loved connecting with families and building community and friendship. Kelly is a mom of four sons: Conner (24), Chase (23), Champion (21), and Cooper (19). Her son Conner came to SFC in 2014 as a freshman drawn to the football program. Through the fantastic teachers and coaches, it was evident that Jesus was in all things at SFC. Her other sons followed, and all graduated from SFC. Kelly has been married to her husband, Jeff, for 27 years, and they love their life together in Carmel Valley.
