Last Saturday, Santa Fe Christian’s middle school choir competed at the Music in the Parks festival in Glendale, CA and won first place and superior rating in their division. There were six participating middle schools at the event, and the awards ceremony took place at Universal Studios.
Competing in festivals like these helped the young SFC performers grow and connect better to what academic choral singing is.
“Awards and accolades are wonderful, but it is the opportunity to minister about Jesus through our singing that brings the most joy and fulfillment,” said Vlad Bgatov, SFC music teacher.
