Your questions answered

Frequently asked questions on giving:

1. What is the SFC Annual Giving program?

The SFC Annual Giving program is the vehicle by which we generate much-needed funds to enrich the student experience at our school. Through our families’ and friends’ generosity, the money raised each year has an immediate impact on our students both in and outside the classroom.

2. Why should I give to the SFC Annual Giving program?

Annual Giving enhances our student’s academic and spiritual life by providing the best practices in teaching, state-of-the-art technology, enhanced safety & security, athletic improvements, and cutting-edge programs, and provides access to our school through financial assistance. Your gift makes a difference!

3. When should I make my gift?

For a gift to be considered an annual contribution to SFC, it must be made between July 1 and June 30. We encourage everyone to be a part of SFC’s Annual Giving days in October.

4. Can I choose to designate where my annual gift goes?

Yes, you always have the option to designate with a gift of $500 or more. In most cases, we prefer to receive undesignated gifts so that our school leadership can direct the funds to where they’re most needed.

5. Who gives to the SFC Annual Giving program?

We have hundreds of contributors who give generously every year! Gifts come from our current parents, grandparents, alumni, alumni parents, and through corporate matching gift programs.

6. How much should I give to SFC’s Annual Giving program?

We ask that each donor prayerfully consider the amount to give for their family. We do not have a designated amount for giving–every gift is appreciated and matters, no matter the amount.

7. If I am on tuition assistance should I still give to SFC’s Annual Giving program?

Yes, our desire is for every family to participate in the Annual Giving program. It doesn’t matter how much you donate–the important thing is that we support SFC together as a community.

8. Do auction item purchases count toward my annual gift or pledge?

No. The Annual Giving program is separate from the Auction that occurs in the spring. Both raise money for the school but are distinct philanthropic efforts.

9. Do you have a corporate matching gift program?

Yes. Many employers will match your gift to SFC. Check our dedicated matching gift page [here]. Corporate matching doubles your gift and thus doubles its impact on SFC.

10. How are donors publicly recognized?

All gifts are greatly appreciated and make a difference! We recognize donors annually by name in the SFC’s Philanthropy Report. If you wish to give anonymously, please let us know, and will honor that upon request.

11. What is the Christmas Gala?

The Christmas Gala is an elegant celebration that is a thank you to those who donate or pledge $3,000 or more to SFC’s Annual Giving. This intimate gathering begins with the Chamber Chorale singing Christmas carols in the Capella Room, followed by an elegant dinner and fellowship. Pledges must be paid in full by June 30th.

12. Does SFC have an endowment?

SFC has 2 endowments, the Teacher Endowment and the newly launched Student Tuition Endowment. Both Funds are under the responsibility of the SFC Endowment Committee. To make a gift to either endowment please contact development@sfcs.net

13. Who do I contact to get more information about overall giving to SFC?

Please contact SFC Development Team, at development@sfcs.net or (858) 755-8900.
