Unique Learning Opportunities for all Ages
Designed as a way to expand the learning for students of all ages, SFC’s Extended Studies offers learners opportunities to explore a variety of interests. SFC Extended Studies is unique because of smaller class sizes, Biblical Integration, and courses taught by SFC staff. Extended Studies started as a way to align summer programs with what was happening on campus during the year. Soon, it grew to include after-school classes during the school year for current students, alumni, and adults.
With summer just around the corner, eNews editors asked program director Amanda Walker her thoughts on Extended Studies’ summer program in particular, “It has grown from a few courses geared to elementary aged students to camps and classes for those preschool aged through adults. Part of the process, as we have developed this program, is to discover student’s interests. Each year we evaluate the needs of our student population, educational best practices, and ways to serve the SFC community. From there teachers and staff develop courses according to those criteria.”
